The Infamous Chop-Chop Lady, Elsa Castillo

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

Many of you, at some point in time, might have watched slasher films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scream, Wrong Turn, and the likes which were really horrifying if you're not used to morbid stuff. The story I'm about to share with you is a real story of a terrifying murder case similar to those movies I've mentioned.

Back in 1993, a girl named Elsa Santos-Castillo worked in Apex Motor Corporation as the Assistant Personnel Manager. She had a husband named Fred, but they occasionally argue as Fred was a constant gambler. Fred's continuous hangout and gamble with his friends made Elsa took a break from their marriage. Elsa then met Stephen Mark Whisenhunt, an American from San Francisco who's also the company owner's son.

Stephen was a married man but his wife was in America. Stephen courted Elsa. They dated and kept their relationship from other employees. However, Elsa's workmates noticed their relationship hence, Elsa decided to leave the company. Though unemployed, their affair went on and Elsa continuously received money from Stephen. The downside of their relationship was the fact that Stephen was an overly possessive guy. Elsa cannot go outside the condominium unless she's being escorted by Stephen's driver whose name was Demetrio Ravelo.

September 23, 1993 was the last day Elsa had been seen alive. As Ravelo went back to Stephen's unit, Lucy, the housekeeper, noticed the knife missing. Ravelo then ran some errands and went back to his home. Ravelo went back to Stephen's unit to inform him that he's going to Apex corporation to settle his payroll. As he went to the company building, the new Assistant Personnel Manager told him to take the plastic bags as per Stephen's order. After running some more errands, Stephen suddenly asked Ravelo about his loyalty. Ravelo then replied he'll work for him forever. That's when Stephen admitted the murder he committed towards Elsa. Ravelo was frightened by his revelation but fearing that Stephen might kill him as well, he followed his orders. Stephen asked Ravelo to help him dispose of Elsa's dismembered body. They put her dismembered body inside a suitcase and were thrown somewhere in Santa Rosa Laguna.

Ravelo was greatly horrified by the incident, even prevented him to properly sleep at night. His guilt made him decide to report to the authorities. He even led the police officers to where they dumped Elsa's body parts. The investigation led the authorities to find several pieces of evidence against Elsa's inhumane murder case. Stephen was then sentenced to life imprisonment.

The moral of the story is that sometimes, people can be crueler than monsters. With all the brutal murder cases recorded around the world, I guess it's safe to agree with me, right? Therefore be vigilant at all times and keep yourself away from danger as much as possible. Have a safe night folks!
