Kaplag Manunulat: A Content Writing and Digital Publishing Webinar is a forum that helps aspiring media practitioners, students, and communicators in media and content writing. Guest speakers were invited to share insights and advice throughout the webinar. The online forum was available both in Zoom and live-streamed on their Facebook page UMtv at around 1 pm last May 11, 2021.
Content writing has been around through the years. Even with the vast changes of society, it has not gone down one bit, but instead, it has improved alongside the changes that occur around it. A journalist’s job is to make content to inform the public. Being a journalist has different variations, you are to be assigned in specific areas one is to focus on. Journalists have also followed the trend of posting through social media, it may seem like an easy task to do. But content writers must create content that is eye-catching and still informative to attract readers and or listeners. Content should be credible, as well as structurally correct and understandable without flowery and unnecessary words.
The media landscape especially in social media is composed of millennials and gen Z sourcing the information and content online. Most newsrooms and print media readers and watchers have migrated to social media, so it has affected a lot especially in print media production. The print media is having problems in circulating their prints since people are now more digital. Through digital, it is much more accessible and visually better for readers who are dependent on technology. Agencies are now evolving with the latest trends by improving how they give back their content, online and digital. With the changes, it is still important to have informative, well-focused, understandable, and morally acceptable stories to be posted online.
Web design in general is very important. It is a project that tackles most of the important details. It is a foundation that helps build a website. With the pandemic happening. Companies and businesses are enhancing and building a name for themselves online. People are more active online and are easier to stumble upon various websites. Content creation helps hone skills in writing content and in creating posts that cater to both fast and slow internet users.
The forum was informative and helpful. As a student, it has improved my knowledge about the things tackled around this webinar. Being a content creator has rules to follow and consider. It is useful knowledge for millennials, generation z’s, and even the other generations to improve in this field. Although short the forum was both interesting and informative.
